One of my 3mm armies is finally nearing completion after about three years of on-again, off-again work. Here it is three years ago. I has now doubled in size and acquired megatanks (ogres), titans, walkers and much more.

It is supposed to be a “Soviet” or “Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard” type army: lots of relatively low quality units backed up by a few extremely good units.

Watch this space for more as it comes up!

I’ve seen these on your blog before, I’m glad to learn that we’ll see more of them as well! 🙂

Ooh, I love this kind of immersive shots of detailed, realistic landscapes with models and figures on them. The second photo is worthy of a place in a glossy, high-production-values magazine or rulebook.

    What he said!

That is a beautifull set up and a great show case for the effect that can be achieved with the smaller scales.

Very well done, a tip my hat to you sir!

    Cheers,

    Stroezie.

Yeah, and you can play a full-sized game on a 3×2 foot board, too!

I am recycling photos from my old tumblr blog, but new stuff is coming. I intend to post photos with Epic Armageddon stats for each subunit.

There’s some really good stuff on this forum lately. And this is no exception, very nice.

I had to double check the title to make sure it was really 3mm. So much detail and a lovely game board.

Yeah, no secret that his terrain is the envy of the entire 3mm scale world. Don’t know how he does it – I’m an inept terrain-maker.

Thanks, Mat, but Bish’s terrain is much better than mine, as is your painting.

The only advantage I have is that I got in on the ground floor. AFAIK, I was the first person to start posting a lot of 1/600 sci-fi stuff on the ‘net, back in 2008 or so. So I just got more practice in than most folks and learned, earlier, what works and what doesn’t.

Now that 3mm sci-fi has become a Thing (well, relatively, anyhow), I have been rapidly overtaken by guys like you and Bish. 😉

Amazing looking force, and thanks for including the TO&E and the capsule unit history. I love this sort of stuff.

Those plasmablast tanks are gorgeous, the paintjob really suits them. 🙂

A realy cool tank with a realy cool paintjob!

Here’s to hoping the Greek economy recovers enough for them to have enough time/money to open up their store again.

I put some beads on a wooden disk and glued rough flocking clusters around them. Then I painted them. There’s a tutorial somewhere, but I can’t find it now.

OK, my first shot at making Epic Armageddon stats for O8’s tanks. Note that these are not for the Warhammer 40k universe.

I’m clearly dense – where did you get the system to make up these stats? Is there some deconstructed version of Epic out there, or are you winging it?

Winging it, but following the EA stats as a guide. Whether or not the points and army building actually work out… Well, we’ll have to say through playing, won’t we? 😀

Infantry is pretty much a direct port, however.

Unarmored infantry is Imperial Guard/Eldar Guardians and is represented by any modern infantry. Combat armor is Imperial Guard Stormtroopers (minus the “scout” characteristic and plus a better support weapon) and it’s represented by sci-fi heavy infantry. Power Armor is Marines and is represented by Venators. Heavy Power Armor is Terminators and is represented by Badgers. Dreadnoughts and the like are represented by the Sarissa and 6mm power armor figures.

We get slapped around, but we have a good time!
