Please see here http://hereticalgaming.blogspot.com/2017/10/battle-of-adwalton-moor-wargaming.html for details of a re-fight of the Battle of Adwalton Moor using Neil Thomas’ Pike and Shot rules and Baccus 6mm figures:

Interesting seeing your two write-ups.  I’ve only played this using the “Pike & Shot” computer game, but it was extremely difficult to get a Parliamentarian victory – the Royalist foot is split into commanded shot and all-pike units, and their horse are higher grade.  You need to have your detached shot “gang up” on their Royalist counterparts and eliminate them before the pike block arrive, then shoot up the pike blocks before they get in among the hedgerows.  Meanwhile the Roundhead horse need to use the lanes on the flanks to “funnel” the Royalist horse into attacking on a narrow front and exposing themselves to carbine fire/counter-attacks from more than one Roundhead unit at a time.

    Fun scenario, though but.
