I’ve got some Russian artillery to paint and I’m wondering what colour to use for the woodwork on the guns, limbers and caissons. I’ve seen the paintwork described variously as ‘apple green’ and ‘grass green’ both of which suggest a light/mid-green colour to me but most pictures I have come across show a dark green.
I paint my French artillery in a dark, olive green colour. So using that as a benchmark, how do you think the Russian woodwork would compare? Darker, lighter, greener, no different?
I used the Wargames Foundry Napoleonic Russian Artillery triad (with some additional washes), which came as like so:

Thanks Greystreak. That looks really good. I like the black-green uniforms as well. They really look the part.
