    “Mr Steve” spent some time looking around the Roman town of Silchester and has posted a report and pictures of this interesting site.

    Not only that but Easy Company of the 506th/101st Airborne got in on the report.

    Yes, certainly worth a visit.  I’m tempted to see Calleva Atrebatum as Cerdic’s (the other one) home patch.

    I was just there last week. We were the only ones there. It was lovely and quiet – at least until my lad insisted on having a gladiator fight in the amphitheatre…
