    Hi All

For the wargames with 28 mm figures, only Wargames Foundry proposes a magnificent ‘La Hitte System‘ Rifled Canon of 12  , model 1859, loading by the jaw…

Do you know a manufacture proposing such a beautiful ‘La Hitte System‘ rifled campaign gun of 4 , model 1858,  loading by the mouth ?

    Nobody knows, incredible!

    Cheers

Gringo40s make one of these 4lb guns as used by the Neapolitan Army in 1860..See their Garibaldi, s war of 1860 range (28mm) …

Now do you know if they are compatible with the Wargames Foundry Figures?

The tube of the 12 pdr Napoleon French Rifled Field Gun – (reference CMFG001 of Wargame Foundry) measure 31mm.

In reality the length of the tube of the 12 pdr Napoleon French Rifled Field Gun is of 191 cm, which gives us a scale of 1 / 61,61 because the length of the tubes of the guns is immutable unlike the size of the men …

With this scale the size of the gunner of this gun (29 mm)- Artillerymen (reference FPF055 of wargame foundry, the figurine with a swab) is 1m78 !

Gringo40s offers a 12 pdr Napoleon French Rifled Field Gun (Reference MAG2) with two tubes, that of a piece of 12 and that of a piece of 8 in its range on the Mexican adventure.

These french rifled field guns of 8 are old bronze pieces, model 1827, which were scratched according to the Hitte system in 1869.

And in any case it was never used during the French Second Empire, and still less during the Mexican adventure.

After being scratched according to the Hitte system in 1869, it will be used only by the artillery of the republic during the end of the war of 1870-1871.

Obviously these three guns of 12, 8 and 4 had different gun carriages which is not the case with Gringo 40s who simply merely reverses the gun barrels for the same gun carriage!?

The tube of the French Rifled Field Gun of 4 (reference MAG2 12lb Cannon of Gringo40s)measure 30mm.

In reality the length of the tube of the French Rifled Field Gun of 4 is of 160 cm, which gives us a scale of 1 / 53,53 because the length of the tubes of the guns is immutable unlike the size of the men …

So using the 12lb Cannon of Gringo40s as French Rifled Field Gun of 4 – (reference MAG2 as this is the only valid model I know for the French Rifled Field Gun of 4) the size of the artillerymen(Reference FPF055 of wargame foundry, which are very beautiful)is 29 mm either 1m55 with a scale of 1 / 53,53!

    Good for the service !

And to these 29 mm to which you can also add the thickness of the base of the artilleryman figure and the thickness of the base on which it will be fixed …

    Good for the service !

Good for the service because in 1870 even men below the legal limit of 1.55 m are mobilized if they have a strong constitution …

Also this very beautiful model of French Rifled Field Gun of 4 by Gringo40s will be perfectly usable with the beautiful french artillerymen reference FPF055 of wargame foundry…

    Cheers
