I did Quatre Bras 1815 once with 2mm on an 18″ x 18″ board, from memory that was 6″ to the mile, it was a very interesting experience because the formations had orders and to change an order took time, so sometimes it was better to leave a unit to carry out a bad order than to stall it and trying to re-direct it. You still got flanks, but the important thing was how you directed and executed orders to exploit a flank.
