I loved Mordheim and still do but haven’t played for ages. Some thoughts in no particular order:

• Don’t buy armour, it’s not worth it early on, go for fighting with a weapon and dagger.
• Skaven are lethal and generally won all the campaigns we played.
• You need lots of terrain to really make it work as a game, with different levels being important to add fun to the game.
• It works best as a campaign, so you see your characters advance. One off games are dull IMHO.
• Play for the fun and the superb background story. Have fun with your warbands and don’t uber powerful as it’s no fun for anyone.
• Ideally you want 3-4 players per game.
• Dwarves are fun but useless in scenarios requiring speed (think Skaven here).
• Use any figures you like, not just the GW ones, although they are great. I’m tempted to do this in 10mm but simply don’t have the time!
