Yeah full spectrum dominance was written to be miniature agnostic. The author has his own proxy armies painted and showcased on the game’s official blog, and the unit names and cards are fairly open to interpretation. That said the author has also written recently how as the game has grown and with the new factions added it is harder to find proxies (the original factions are kinda high tech vs mid tech that would fit well with your 3mm, the newer ones are more exotic).  It does sound like a fun, well thought out game.
