Buck, there are loads of books about the Crimean War and you might expect one of them would be titled Battle Tactics of the Crimean War. And you would be disappointed.

WH Russell was there and wrote about it in

The Crimean War and Eye Witness .Accounts of the Crimean War. I think this is the same book with a different title.

Cecil Woodham-Smyth The Reason Why is still worth reading.

The destruction of Lord Raglan Christopher Hibbert likewise.

Hugh Small The Crimean War-there’s a review of this on my blog.

There is very good information in various British soldiers letters home. Much of it is online.

We pretty much lack the Russian perspective translated to English.
