Actually for these bright colors I use a very liberal drybrushing to build up the color. I was never a fan of drybrushing as it tends to look dusty but with a very gradual approach and a very soft brush, it comes out well. Reds and yellows in particular look blotchy unless done with a very slow approach.

It’s a new technique, you see, that I invented, and it’s called the “Backslap Method.” You apply paint using a brush!
