Very long ago I often played with “Les Aigles” a French ruleset of the 1980s.

…yes that was the case! Although, to be fair, we often were tempted to play too many units (in 1/72 plastic), much more battalions than what the rules were intended for.

Now I don’t play large battles any more, occasionally very small skirmishes with Argad, in Napoleonic the most inviting contexts for such scenarios are the Peninsular and the retreat from Russia.
