Thank you. I think this temple/shrine should be white, as you described. My thought is it was built in the Classical period, in Sicily & although maybe a hundred years  have passed, it should still be white. I gather some architectural aspects were painted, even garishly so? If so, although this may be accurate, most people expect the unpainted stone & this is what I will do. I think I’ll avoid veins altogether.
