Aotrs Shipyards September 2025 Release: M113 C&R

First of all, I’m pleased to announce that my partners in crime at Manoeuvre Group have released Part 3 of their 1981-1983 Army Lists. Part3 is the Middle East, and includes Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait Saudi Arabia and Syria! It is available at Wargames Vault for €6.50!

(Yes, I KNOW the title is spelled wrong, I do not know *how* he managed that after I EXPLICTLY corrected the names on the files when I spotted it. And he’s gone away for a few days, so typo will have to remain un he gets back…! *sigh*)

General housekeeping note: You will note the price is now in Euros, not dollars. (I had to toggle the default currency to see it myself.) MG are switching over their default currency, given the Current Circumstances have made the dollar (vrs the pound) more unstable. (Pounds would have been ideal, but Dad apparently didn’t think to look for that option.). Aotrs Shipyards will be doing the same at Wargames Vault when the new fleet list book (or the annual Galaxy Guide update) is released.

As and when the option is available for MyMiniFactory, I will also be changing default prices over when I can (based on the original and long-standing about 0.8 dollar to pound). No time frame on this, sorry: I did ask about it yesterday, but there has been no response about when or whether this will be an option.

Both of the measures are for additional insurance in case the dollar drops sharply. It’s never been terribly ideal that I have to charge and get paid in dollars and/or euros (that was, at least, one of the advantages of Only-Games) – just filling in my revenue spread sheet requires having to manually calculate – but hitherto it’s not been an option.

With that out the way, this month I have for you the M113 C&R, both the Canadian Lynx and the Dutch version!

Here’s an updated catalogue link.

(Here’s a little secret if you’ve never looked at the catalogue before – it often has previews of stuff in the backlog and release queue!)

M113 C&R (Lynx)

The Lynx comes with two versions of the turret; the standard one, which is more accurate, and a “tall” turret, which has 1mm added to the ring to facilitate turning in more easily, since the accurate turret was a bit fiddly. The photo below is from the Lynxes in use on Dad’s table right now (the M113 C&C was a commission from MG), and uses this “tall” turret, since MG does expect you to Turn the Tank Turrets! You can see the differences in the renders.

Photos of Prusa versions, as always.

There’s a lot in the backlog still, so it will again be my somewhat arbitrary choice what comes out next month. I may even only do one model, because:

Sci-fi releases should be resuming next month, with the DHZ ground force premiering at Other Partizan in October; there’s quite a lot of the DHZ, to put it mildly, as a good chunk of it was commission work to do Vehicles That Resemble Modern Chinese Armour, for which there simply wasn’t enough source to be accurate. This is convenient, since the DHZ is technically the lowest tech ground force thus far (yes, even counting the GT!), which makes is very very ultra-modern!

(This is due, by-the-by, to the decision my mate who created the DHZ fleet (using GZG ESU models) made when he did the Accelerate and Attack tech tree. Because, as always, I pride myself on internal consistency, even to a fleet which played two games over a decade ago…!)

Further down the line, I have done some work on the upcoming Qyax Computation fleet and restarted work on the Yrgynela fleet. The former was started back in 2019, the latter, which has four ships done and painted, from 2014, so both are a bit overdue! As a result, work on fleet book 3 has slowed down a bit, though I may do some more this week.
