I do play FWC, and they are based on the older BKC rules, although things like the deployment and weapon systems are more sophisticated. To my knowledge Pendraken never finished their new edition, which judging from their version of BKC, will be a step rather strongly towards skirmish-like gaming over the very large mass combat of the originals. They’re all available as PDFs now, and to Pendraken’s credit they’ve kept the older rules in circulation.
