I enjoy the one sided battle when there are victory conditions for the underdog side. Hold on until turn 12 and so forth.

Answering in anticipation of the switch to “general” from Napoleonic, I likewise prefer games where if they’re unbalanced there is something to it. I mean who doesn’t like Thermopylae or the Battle of the Bulge?

On the other hand, games that are written to be unbalanced because the author has some narrative or ideological axe to grind can be irritating. Antietam games with a “McClellan Was An Idiot” Rule, for example, or Cold War games where “obviously” the superior Soviet onslaught could never hope to be defeated – those are not very fun.
