Some news would stay there forever if it was the only one in that genre, other news would slip off much sooner, why should the more ‘obscure’ news get more front page time?
Would the site look stale with ‘news’ from 6 months ago on the front page?
What if 9 genres are on the front page and a 10th new genre is submitted, who gets booted off?
News in my opinion needs to be new and as such organised by new-ness, the forums are for topics and genres.
