We just dress it up differently. Plenty of people in the West still look at their Astrology, with varying degrees of credulousness. People have lucky numbers and colours, ‘Lady Luck”, superstitions and the like.
A Chinese friend of mine used to look at his Western Zodiac and predictions regularly & took a degree of comfort from them. When I asked him why he didn’t read the Chinese version, his response was along the lines of ” I know that it is a load of old rubbish, these are much better, more credible“.
