You might want to check out something like Tiny Dungeon or Fragged Empire, I don’t own them but the 3D6 for any checks idea sounds simple and appealing.

2D6 for standard checks +/-D6 for advantage or disadvantage.

 

B&L is kind of dicepool, each character gets only 1 dice most time but rolls are done in groups.
