The situation involves rolling to see if a ‘bad thing’ occurs, and poorer performers get more dice (making it easier for them to end up with a bad roll).
The odds/results end up correct – it’s just the idea of saying “this rotten unit gets a +1 rating” that sticks in my design craw…it means they’ll fail the roll more often, but the positive modifier implies it’s a good thing.
Silly, of course…but worrying over it keeps me indoors.
