That’s pretty much what I’m aiming for (though I use ‘1’ for bad stuff and ‘6’ for good) that leads to the (possibly) counter-intuitive notion of having a positive modifier (adding more dice to the roll -either the result of general capability or accumulated hits) to account for a greater chance of failure. It’s consistent with the general theme of rolls in that more dice means an increase in the chance of whatever it is you’re rolling for (whether good or bad), so it’s not the end of the world…as confessed: just something to think about to avoid chores.
