No, I can’t think of any cutting out activities by the French or Spanish, either. I thought maybe the Spanish had attempted some during the siege of Gilbrator during the American Revolution but I couldn’t find any references now. Maybe I’m just imagining it. Maybe Barbary raids on Irish villages would suffice? True story.
