Reply To: depicting magic spells and effects

Personally I have an aversion to the use of most “effect markers” (magical or otherwise). Unless done really well (so as to make them “meld” visually with the miniatures and terrain) I find they tend to cheapen the visual effect of the game and jolt me out of the story that’s unfolding on the tabletop. For instance, most of the Litko Aerosystems markers are too plastic-y and two-dimensional for my tastes.
