I’m not convinced the Ekwesh are neccesarily Mycenaeans.
Though I presume Ekwesh is derived from Ekwa, the Indo-European for horse, and Mycenaean chariots would certainly qualify.
That said, I can’t believe that elements of Mycenaean society didn’t take part, given Greek myths of fighting in Egypt and Mycenaean’s rather lax attitude to other peoples property!
Odysseus is said to have fought in Egypt, been captured and then served the Egyptians.
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is entirely optional!
