I seem to remember I had to stuff large wads of 1980s rule sets in my mouth during the last discussion to avoid being quite intemperate!
Still depends – define ‘victory conditions’.
Don’t like context free ‘take and hold three random terrain features’.
Do like, ‘defend the river line/approach to the town until relieved’ type of thing, with a context that at least suggests there might be some support from higher command on the way at some stage, and why.
Don’t like equal points slug it out battles much (have played the odd competition, and enjoyed them, but they weren’t really ‘war’gaming to my mind).
