Were you thinking of VIRTUS, John?

So IIRC, roughly speaking, you have PAYNE to try and instill carrying less weight as a procedure, ATLAS to give assistance (by some kind of carrying vehicle, or revert to donkeys or whatever) and VIRTUS is webbing to carry the armour, helmet and weight better.

That’s the badger.

I’m not sure it is necessarily a good idea to divide a problem into three parts like Gaul, but I suppose it makes work for defence analysts, so I shouldn’t complain.

However I think they are still missing a trick by not funding the combat psychology side of human factors as much as it desperately needs, and I am quite confident that harmfully silly decisions will continue to be made about platoon organsation and weapons.

All the best,

John.
