Try a look at shieldless 10mm Biblicals maybe for Chicimecs.  I think you might be out of luck with Tarascan or Zapotec substitutes.

There’s no avoiding throwing 12 dice a unit with LR variants at least until they reach half strength or long range.  You can though base the figures on a one, two , three system and many do.
