ParticipantHi Folks
I’m looking for manufacturers/suppliers of 1/1200th ship models for the less common and smaller ship types. I’m particularly wanting Dhows, Canoes & other ‘native’ boats, Medieval ships (not just Cogs) & any others that might be on offer from around the Crusades to mid 17th century.
I’ve found Navwar, Rod Langton & a few others but, while they have one or two examples of some of these, they are mostly later types. Loads of Napoleonic, ancient & a few limited ranges of Renaissance but not much else.
Not averse to fantasy ranges (if they exist) if they are not too ‘far out’.
They are to be used for Galley & Galleons ‘fun’ naval rules but I’d like them to be decent models to use for other rules later.
Thanks

ParticipantAnother possibility is anyone who does 3D prints of ships of these types & at this scale – though they may be out of my price bracket having seen some of the stuff on sale.

KeymasterActually, you know what you are looking for.
See if there is anything suitable on there for you, don’t worry too much over scale.

ParticipantHi Mike
Have looked through all the items tagged as ‘ship’ & a few other tags but found only 2 that might be of some use. Loads of good ideas but mostly spaceships and board game pieces.
I’ll have a look at the two sets of files I downloaded and get back to you if I think they could be usable.
Thanks again.

ParticipantHi Volunteer & David – thanks for the tips
I’ve had a look at the Outpost & Ral Partha cogs and will get a few of each. The RalPartha are given as 22mm long but how long are the Outpost ones ? You say they are larger & they look about 30mm or so from the pics.
I also remembered that I had some of the ‘Mighty Empires’ ships from the old board game. Not great in the way of an historical representation but I’ll try and paint them up and see how they look. They are about 30mm, including bowsprit & quite high.
