    Howdy All

Well yes the page 48 of the third edition of AOR is still a little different from what we see in the second edition, pages 44 and 45!

    Second edition:

The following ideas have not been extensively playtested by the authors, but have been suggested by those players who prefer this scale.

    Third edition:

The following ideas have not been extensively playtested by the authors, but have been suggested by those players who prefer this scale.

    Second edition:

Double the listed size of units (a 12 casting unit would be now a 224 (Sic)casting unit). All units should be at least two ranks deep.

Two ranks deep of figures I suppose ?
    Third edition:

Double the listed size of units (a 12 casting unit would be now a 24 casting unit). All units should be two ranks deep in line.

    Second edition:

In small arm fire, allow two ranks to fire and give +1 fo each group of 6 figures, rounding up, over 12.

As before, the fire modifier is given until all of the figure in a group of six are eliminated.

Example: A 30 casting unit receives a +3 modifier for figures over the base 12.

    Third edition:

In small arm fire, allow two ranks to fire. The fie is done normally but each group of 6 casting over 12 it is + 1d6.

the fire modifier is given until all of the figure in a group of six are eliminated.

Example: A 30 casting unit receives a +3 modifier for extra figures.

    Second edition:

A 25-30 casting unit would receive the same modifier until it was reduced to 24 castings, the next lowest group of 6.
    Third edition:

A 25-30 casting unit would receive the same modifier until it was reduced to 24 castings, the next lowest group of 6.

    Second edition:

In melee use all figures in the first two ranks plus 2 supporting ranks to fight, provided the rear ranks are aligned as per the regular melee rule.

    Third edition:

In melee use all figures in the first two ranks for infanrtry and cavalry.

    Second edition:

Change the artillery “to hit”number 12 to 6: like small arms fire, every multiple of 6 would now hit.

    Double the listed cannister ranges.

Another method is to double the size of the units as above, figure the shots normally, but double all the hits.

    Third edition:

Artillery fire procedure remains as per the standard rules but a battery is now composed of 2 gun models with 4 gunner figures each.
It is all that, but if you change the figure scale, by dividing it by two, you must multiply by two the range of shots and the distances of movements, right?

And yet, this is not specified!???

    Cheers

    Breton
