Funnily, I was immediately hit by WFB 6th ed connotations, because the GW studio Empire army (which featured constantly in White Dwarf) during that edition was also painted as Talabheimers.
Not that that’s of any consequence. And I must say, very nice painting of such small-scale figures.

What’s with the red and white stripes on the tray? I like the tray, I thought you bought them until I went back and read the post.
@Logain
Excelent miniatures looks really good.02/11/2020 at 18:22 #146287Angel BarracksModeratorThanks.
So all the trays as noted felt a bit chunky so I made one to be less obvious when in use.
But then when thinking about what colours I decided on black, as the actual little bases are black and this is obvious on the hero models as they have no tray.
So keep them black to match.
But then that seemed a bit stark, that big black front.
So what to do…I had a thought, the front of the trays can match the uniform of the troops.
Makes sense, I have after all bought dice to match the units colours, why not go all colour coded!!04/11/2020 at 11:50 #146339Angel BarracksModerator04/11/2020 at 14:12 #146349Darkest Star GamesParticipantNo Reiklanders? Sacrilege!

We get slapped around, but we have a good time!
04/11/2020 at 22:33 #146366Thaddeus BlanchetteParticipantLooks kind of like a mix of high German medieval and Byzantine architecture, but I’m sure rural shrines are much less elaborate.

Do you have a link to the seller of those trees? My searching has only turned up very basic ones so far…

Off back to bed (only done 20 out of the last 24 in there) I think.
12/11/2020 at 11:43 #146728Angel BarracksModeratorI have been putting the 10mm WFB content onto my old Angel Barracks site.
It will be caught up with here soon and may even contain some new content, go have a butchers if you want my ramblings without your ramblings!😀

All of this brings back some fond, and not so fond, memories of WH6th edition. The former playing with people who enjoyed the background etc, the latter with competitive players. Shame as those tournament players put me off the game for life, despite it having a superb background to it.
14/11/2020 at 17:17 #146850Andrew BeasleyParticipantTest print of my first unit card, once I am 100% sure I am happy I will print them onto stickers and put them on plasticard sheets so they are super durable…
I had a local printer do me two A4 double sided, colour QRS on 160gsm paper and matte laminate last week (email so handy). Cost me £6 in total and very very happy with the result and as the laminate covers all the sheet edges they should be good for the odd coffee or tea spill.

I used to be about winning at all costs back in the day.
Not so much now.

One day maybe I can lure you to the ‘new’ house. It has been ages and I hear you like a bit of 10mm…
15/11/2020 at 19:08 #146894fairoaks024ParticipantI like those bolt throwers.
15/11/2020 at 23:00 #146897RhodericMemberLiche Purple nostalgia. The definitive Dark Elf colour.
24/11/2020 at 13:38 #147374Angel BarracksModeratorCheers.
Painted another unit, started on some buildings and half through doing my forest piece.
Just started filing the emblems off the cavalry shields.
I am going to say the dragon is in fact a griffin and so they are my Ostermark troops which is my heavy spear and regular infantry units.However I did not want my cavalry to be from Ostermark so the dragons are gone..
Oh and I chopped off most the grass that attaches the hooves to the ground, rather use tufts for tufts and rather have them not touching the ground at all if they are mid gallop.

02/12/2020 at 13:15 #147778Angel BarracksModerator02/12/2020 at 14:04 #147781Darkest Star GamesParticipantI have been trying to find some flagellants in 10mm, not managed to source any so have commissioned some to be sculpted for me…
Duuuuude… that’s getting stuck pretty deep in. If you’re having them sculpted you’ll probably want to sell them as well, just to – you know – recoup the cost… {whistles innocently}

02/12/2020 at 14:49 #147782Deleted UserMemberYou should have tried converting first, its part of the hobby 😀
03/12/2020 at 15:00 #147838Angel BarracksModeratorI may put them up for sale.
I will see how they look when they arrive.
If I think they are good enough for release I will get a production mould made of them, otherwise I will get them slipped into a master and just have a few spins to make my unit of them.As for converting, I am not too keen on anything that fiddly in those numbers.
A few maybe, but not twenty or more, it would be quicker to have them made than to find the best closest figures and then order them and convert them.
Plus you never know, as DSG says, they may make me a few squid.12/12/2020 at 15:27 #148218Angel BarracksModerator12/12/2020 at 16:00 #148219Angel BarracksModerator12/12/2020 at 18:13 #148228Angel BarracksModerator -
