Here is the 11th cavalry division of Napoleon’s 1815 army, and this one consists of Cuirassiers! My favourite French cavalry type, the heavy bois. Check out my blog for more pictures and information on the unit:

Thank you! There’s a couple of stages really. After using pollyfilla to build up the base, first I use sand glued down with PVA, which I then paint with Vallejo’s Intermediate green, wait til it’s dry and then inkwash with a thinned version of Vallejo’s Flat Earth and drybrush with Decorart’s Sunshine Yellow. Then I use Wooland Scenics’ summer mix static grass glued down with PVA in random blobs. Finally, I add some small grass tufts that I picked up on Ebay. It’s as simple as that really.
