Got my Cold War Polish battalion finished this week, using some cracking 15mm figures by Oddzial Osmy and SKOT APCs by Butler’s Printed Models:

    Those are awesome!

I’ve spent lots of time staring at those OO Polish troops (have some of the ‘green men’), they’re great sculpts, but I don’t have anything to do with them, and I hate when I buy troops I don’t need, just ‘cause they’re pretty 😉

Well if in your universe the Cubans threw off the oppressive yoke of Communism and embraced the oppressive yoke of Capitalism, then maybe their place wrt Soviet use of client state forces was taken by the Poles. Just like in our reality the Cubans were used as proxies in various African conflicts maybe in your reality use the Poles.

Excellent plan!  As it happens, I think the odd Polish advisor did go to Angola and a lot of the Angolan Air Force was flown by East Germans.

Failing that, they do make superb figures to use for a fictitious (and quite a few historical) Soviet client states.

The problem is that I have PSC Soviets, Eureka Russians, OO Russians, and Battlefront East Germans already…

And if you guys like my universe, why not head over to the “Operation Chunky Bandit” thread, I’m working on an epic!

I am thinking about buying a platoon of French, but again, what would I do with them?

Thanks for the heads-up KB.  I just had a look and it’s curious as they’re not listing any infantry packs.  It mainly seems to be artillery (RM-70 MRLs and DANA SP 152mm) and a pack of OT-64A (SKOT-2A in Polish) – just the single version of SKOT by the looks of it., which is rather limiting.

Damn crackin’ good painting there! And the blog post is very good…a complete gaming guide to the Poles!

I have some modern Poles from Terrains4Games, I might have to get them cleaned up and painted! Of course, completely different than the CW Poles, but still very cool.

    Great stuff, JF!
