Years ago, in my school days, I had a nice little collection of Airfix and Matchbox vehicles and figures for doing skirmishes on the Russian Front in winter. I have a hankering to recreate this but in 15mm. Vehicles are no problem, but I’m looking for recommendations for Russian and German figures in winter clothing. Any suggestions?
Battle Front makes some and I think QRF do as well.
Disclaimer, although I’ve got figures from all these companies, I don’t actually own any winter war figures….
Peter Pig have Germans and Russians in greatcoats, and Cossacks! PP are sometimes a bit of an acquired taste (there’s usually a lot of gurning going on) but I like them. They also have seperate heads in their range so if you fancy a bit of variation in your figures…
QRF can be a bit hit and miss but their recent infantry figures are very good. I’m not sure if they have ‘winter’ figures.
Battlefront vary from excellent to weird mutants, depending upon range and sculptor.
Eureka are worth a look for partisans if you desire to go that way.
Forged in Battle also have figures, albeit not in winter clothing.

Wot Etranger said. PP is the way to go. I have Soviets and Germans in greatcoats on the painting table now and they are looking good. Skytrex/Old Glory also do Soviets and Germans in greatcoats as well.
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.
We dont have any WW2 Russian winter figures yet.

The PP Germans in greatcoat show a distinct lack of ghost faces compared to many of their ranges. Highly recommended as far as I’m concerned.
