Still have the heads and matte varnish to do… And then putting them on bases.

I’m going to put them on my laser cut acrylic bases, but haven’t decided whether to have them on clear bases or painted bases.

What do you folks think of clear bases?

This is the base i’m talking about (this one is painted):

    Good models sir.

I am not a fan of clear bases.
I find that they are more conspicuous than normal.
They show off finger prints and smudges, reflections from lighting, scratches and bits of loose scatter on them make them quite visible.
Of course I may be in the minority!

Good points, and I generally agree with that!

I haven’t done clear bases before… I’ll post up a picture if  I end up trying one as an example.

I’m with AB, if the point is to be unobtrusive, I personally don’t think clear bases are any less noticeable than a simple, well painted “normal” base.  You can still see a clear disk just as well as a brown or grey earth textured base.

The only time I’ve based something on clear acrylic, I ended up frosting it with superglue fumes!
