Has anyone tried making terrain for this scale/size? I’m making some hills and wondered if I’m re-inventing the wheel …

For landscape, I just use books or other objects under the mat, this can create some really realistic hills and folds.  For houses we pretty much use either monopoly buildings, or scratch build some using card and balsawood.

If you’re looking for available off the shelf models, I believe Brigade make some IIRC.

I use commercial hills from S&A under a cloth coupled with Brigade Miniatures buildings. Works for me.

Brigade (http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/SmallScaleScenery/index.html) cover a wide range of potential theatres of war now.

Fighting 15s (http://www.fighting15sshop.co.uk/) have some nice buildings suitable for 3mm in North Africa or the Middle East

Supreme Littleness (http://www.supremelittleness.co.uk/) do some nice 3mm laser-cut MDF stuff.

I just use the same terrain as I use with my 6mm stuff (which is sub scale anyway). I did make some pan scrub forests, but I generally just use small railway model trees.

Hills are hills, some are bigger than others, but again, I just use my existing ones.

For 2mm moderns I use surplus command and Colours wood blocks to build up towns and cities, but for other periods I use normal buildings.

There are a few posts on my blog of various 2mm terrain setups.

Edge Hill in 2mm (I used Irregular 2mm buildings for the few BUAs in this, otherwise it was my low hills and 6mm trees).
