Here’s a couple of pics of some rice paddies that I’ve been working on. I rushed the flocking, so need to go back and touch them up a bit and add a little more to them. Kind of a so-so job, but at least I can get them on the table.
With some Britannia 20mm GIs in the second shot.
They look brilliant, how did you make them?

I really like that there is just a little bit of asymmetry.

They do the job nicely.

Thanks for the comments.
Ian, I used .06 inch thick styrene sheet for the bases, cut strips of blue foam on the band saw (can be cut by hand a little more slowly) for the raised berms and attached it to the perimeter of the bases with 3M spray adhesive. Sanded them, used light weight/one-step spackle to fill blemishes. Coated with acrylic paste, painted with acrylic artist’s paint. The water was painted with acrylic craft paint, the tufts (from Serious Play) were applied in rows, then a couple coats acrylic gloss medium was applied to the water. Last was flock glued with artist’s acrylic matte medium (which I should have done in two applications, first the earth, and then the weeds).
There are some (not extremely, but maybe a little helpful) WIP pics on my blog at:
