Hi all,
The completion of the second battalion of the 96e Ligne moves the second French line regiment in Victor’s I Corps a bit closer to completion.
The 96e Ligne had a busy first nine months in the Peninsular War taking part in five significant engagements as Napoleon’s forces drove into the north and centre of Spain. The regiment was never far from the action with Colonel Cales wounded at Somosierra Pass and would suffer a similar fate at Talavera.
