ParticipantLovely stuff! I have one of the ships (impulse buy at Salute…) but didn’t realise they did crew as well!

Participantit was mainly seeing the crew that sold me on buying the ships, I always like to add crew to things where I can, and these are particularly nice and the lack of bases makes them look so much better when in place.

ParticipantThis range was originally carried by the now defunct Kremlin Miniatures. I did a lot of research when I commissioned those figures even going as far as seeking opinions/advice from someone that had actually sailed in a (replica) longship. At 1mm equaling 1ft the ships are correctly scaled in size to match the archaeological evidence of their construction, this also means they are correctly scaled against each other. The masters were created by Martin Baker, a leading light in the field of figure sculpting. And you, Northern Monkey, have painted them very nicely indeed.

ParticipantThanks for the info Alvin, I suspected they were a bought in range as the sculpting is far different from the usual H&R stuff (that’s not criticism of H&R I love their stuff), its a beautifully sculpted range and between you and Mr Baker you should be very proud of them, I will be adding some Anglo Saxons when time allows as I need some targets for my slaughtering and pillaging!
And I will update my blog with your info too

ParticipantKremlin Miniatures had some good stuff. I wish that I had bought some of their Siberian tribes 15mm figures when they had them.

ParticipantRichard, at the risk of derailing Northern Monkey’s thread and apologies to you NM for going off topic, the Siberian range was bought by M.Y. Miniatures and Mick has put the range back into production.

ParticipantThanks, Alvin, that is good news. MY Miniatures is a firm that I might be ordering from for a couple of other things as well, in the autumn.
@Northern Monkey – Sorry about the off-topic posts.
