OK, here are some pictures of a test French brigade on a test board. Too green? Remember: these are closeups….

I think the board works great with the dulling down of the green with a bit of khaki and just a hint of landscaping.

The troop bases, however, need to be dulled down with some varnish, I think. Too plastic-looking as is.

Check out Curlerman’s excellent blog if you want a better view of what these figs look like unpaonted, Steve:

Just bought some Heroics & Ros 6mm figs as brigade and army commanders. Although they are somewhat smaller than Commission Figurines’ stuff, they seem to scale quite nicely. I should have some comparison shots up soon.

Great work. I saw these in the flesh at the Joy of Six. I must say I was intrigued, however, I think they work better for the Old School look you are going than the look I am trying to achieve with my current Blucher project. Yours are excellent and the board looks great!

Thanks, Abwherschlacht! I am doing Blucher in 3mm and 2mm. But you should really look at Curlerman’s Blucher bases. They are excellent and make great use of these figs.

I have just checked his blog from the link above. I actually came across it before when I was researching my own bases and was very impressed then as well. I really love his idea of being about to add artillery and skirmishers to the base (with magnetic strips) and it was something I considered myself. However, just researching the uniforms was complicated enough, so it got left on the back burner!

I’m thinking this flocking might be good: bright green, so it reflects a maximum of light. Anyone have any experince with it?
