Started as an experiment with contrast paints and….
General on his ride…..
War Elephants
Chariots and Cavalry.
Archers
Swordsmen.
Spear and Shields
All done in contrast except for the metal, white and spot colours on the elephants.
I like the look of the darker horses and the brown skin. What do you reckon to them?
These look surprisingly good. I really like the effect on the elephants and charriots, did you use highlight and drybrush at all or are these pure contrast paint?
The only non contrast paint on them is metallic, and the red white and yellow on the standards and elephants headdress and blanket.
I really like them, certainly for 6mm they give a good effect and in a fast timescale, these took about 2 hours in total to paint (I think, they were done over several days and with other things going on) so quicker to paint than to prep.
The lighter tone horses look better in real life, they have washed out a little in the pictures.
Currently got a regiment of ACW Union to finish, done the same way.
