    Hi all

I recently finished some 6mm Russians for a large commission , about to add a few hundred Infantry to this.

As usual, remarkable painting at this scale!

I note the Foot Artillery crew figures appear to have ‘white’ buttons on coat fronts and cuffs, rather than ‘brass’ ones.  A case of artistic licence necessary to render sufficient ‘contrast’ at 6mm scale?  (I’m curious, as I typically only paint 28mm scale.)

You are correct the horse artillery had green trousers so I used a gold colour for buttons but the foot artillery white trousers distracted the eye to much and the gold buttons looked dirty and wrong! So I used white 6mm is all about contrast or these little extra details are totally worthless , as invisible at distance

Thank you for the clarity, sir.   Working in the 28mm scale, I have to wrestle with other difficult choices to get the ‘effect’ desired, and for my sins they come out looking like so:

They look good I like 28mm but they take me to long to paint 1 fig can take a week plus I find I keep adding layers and details so 6mm became my playground
