Finally got around to making some more village bases for my 6mm Sengoku Jidai to add to this one I did a while back. The base is 10cm square, buildings are by Mura Miniatures. Civilians from GHQ Vietnam range.
And the other 4 added:
Village bases together with some fields and forests and a Castle Arts shrine (nominally 10mm):
One of the great things about 6mm is the amount of space you have to bring the scenery to life. Also, as it’s a very ‘impressionistic’ scale, it’s surprisingly easy to make small details. This scale is much more forgiving than larger scales where you’d need to use a much greater range of materials. Here are a few articles on making the bases:

Thanks. The village is inevitably called Takomura. Back in the day when we played Bushido, every adventure had a village called Takomura (Octopus village) in it. I can’t even remember what the joke was that started it 🙂
The Castle Arts buildings are pretty much the same size as Mura, even though they’re intended for 10mm. They’re very nice too.30/12/2017 at 23:51 #80294Thaddeus BlanchetteParticipant

Usagitsuki, you sir and those like you, are the reason I never get wargaming projects finished.
I soooo want to do 6mm Sengoku Jidai right now.
You are a bad influence 🙂
That terrain is just superb. Brilliant stuff. Any chance of pictures of it “in action” in a game?
Bleh! Like I need more temptation 😀

We should hopefully be doing a game soon. I want to try and convert the board game ‘Tenkatoitsu’ to the tabletop. We did a game a few months ago, the report of which is here:
