I’ve just set up the Ilkley Lads’ game for Fiasco – on 26th October at the Royal Armouries, Leeds – to check the table size and that I still have all of the troops. It’s going to be Harran 1104 AD.
This is one of those battles where, if you wrote it as a fictional encounter, you might be accused of making the scenario too far fetched. Anyway, here’s a link to a recent blog post with some notes and pictures of the game set up. I hope it’s a good show this year – it’s certainly at one of the best venues for a war game show.

That looks good! I’m tempted to make the trip up to Leeds. I visited the Armouries a few years ago – what a great place for a wargames show!
Drop by, and say hi, if you do.

An update on the scenario plan:

I’m now getting down to formulating the special rules to help the scenario run. Harran is a complex battle to model, and how much should one try to steer the progress of a game anyway? Now there’s a question.
