Hi all, here a newby in the forum, but grognard wargamer…
I want to start using the 5Core/5MaK wargame, well any Sorensen game, I have all of them(I think), to play Modern Africa Conflicts, from Angola 1975 to the current conflicts in Congo…
I am planning to uses army groups of a arround 12-8 miniatures per side, with some (1-2) vehicles supporting like Armoured Vehicles, like jeeps, Buffels, or Pickups.
But sadly, I am not sure about which Sorensen rules I would use to play. Could you recommend me one of them?
Thanks!
Company Commander. or No End in Sight.
If you want a more “military” experience, No End in Sight.
If you want something that’s more “character” driven, FiveCore.
For the game size you mention, NEIS is the best fit unless you want to use squad-bases, then FiveCore Company Command.
Does that help at all?
Well, I have all this to play Africa Conflicts….
So, I thought that with 5MaK I could play… But I am going to take a look on No End Insight. I love the 1-6 rolls system.
I saw a lot of games with 5MaK like THESE and I thought that I could use it.
Thanks for your advice!
Well, if you have 5MaK, start there ๐
If you feel that the number of guys starts to constrain you, add in some extra action dice and the game can handle some pretty decent sized forces.
Check out some of Just Jack posts using NEIS here in the modern section. It will give you a better idea of how the game can work. That and Just Jack writes great AAR’s
Thanks, I am going to give a chance to NEIS.
