I have recently completed two more urban bases for Blucher, they add to the one I already had made to make up three villages, or one full city. There’s a few photos on my blog, please take a look here:

Thanks for looking!

Never argue with an idiot. They'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
23/10/2016 at 17:01 #51101AbwehrschlachtParticipantThanks, I can’t fault the buildings at all, lovely sculpts. I posted some pictures of my figures with the buildings in a recent post here:

It’ll give you an idea of the scales!

23/10/2016 at 17:33 #51103RuarighParticipantThanks. That looks good with those figures. I’m tempted to think more in terms of scaling the terrain to the nominal ground scale in tandem with using smaller buildings on the basis of seeing your stuff. I’ll have to try it with a smallish battlefield and see how it works. Mind you, of late I have also been very tempted to start printing out maps to use as battlefields in the fashion of Kriegsspiel games. It would save a lot of painting and also sort out some storage issues I have! ๐

23/10/2016 at 19:05 #51106AbwehrschlachtParticipantThanks. I went for the 2mm scale after making a couple of 6mm urban tiles. In Blucher the urban spaces are a nominal size (about a base width by a base width square), so you’re restricted to the size. The 6mm houses looked nice but I could only fit two onto the tiles, so it became the opposite effect of having too few buildings on a base. I reasoned with Blucher being pretty abstract anyway, it was for aesthetic effect rather than anything else.

23/10/2016 at 20:38 #51110RuarighParticipantYes, that sounds like the problem I have with my 6mm buildings and Command Decision. I get one building per BUA base and there’s no room for landscaping. The BUAs are all representative too, so going down a scale or two, as you have done, would solve that problem for me.

That is some beautifully painted urban terrain! However, 2mm minis blur the line between miniatures and colourful Braille! If you put your little town vignettes on an old fashioned gramophone would they play a nice tune? Well done, nonetheless but I have to ask – Why? Come back to your more sensible 15mm roots and don’t peer into the abyss of 2mm minis as that way lies madness and torment. Don’t become the next King Ludwig of Bavaria or George III of England/UK.
Cheers and good but visible gaming.
Rod Robertson.
24/10/2016 at 07:07 #51119AbwehrschlachtParticipantHa ha, don’t panic Rod, these are for my 6mm games, not 2mm ones! I wouldn’t dream of dropping smaller than 6mm and then they are only for Napoleonics, where I would go mad if I painted the 100 Days Campaign at 15mm…

Yes, and a glorious madness it would be ๐
I like your town tiles, they are very nice.
Cheers,
