The first release of praydogs Unreal Engine VR injector is out.

Over a year in the works.

It lets you play any game made with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 in VR.

Some games work better than others. But almost all of the 11 000 games on steam using UE 4 or 5 works to some degree in VR with this injector.

Some games simply lets you play with mouse and keyboard or game controller while using your headset. Even this basic thing improves immersion as you are there.  Even platformer like crash bandicoot played in 3rd person gets a huge lift by playing in VR.

Some will use this as a basis for total vr conversions of big budget games.

I did my first test today. Using the game Operation Harsh doorstop. A free tactical game. That is made for the community to build upon and make its own.

There are also some paid DLC.

One of them Vietnam. I’ve wanted a Vietnam VR game since I started using VR.

This was a short test. I haven’t played with settings and I’m just using mouse and keyboard.

But still my guys are you know human sized. Having my head in the bush as bullets snap past my ear is very cool.

I’m now working on getting my vr controllers going.

Really interesting.  I’ve heard good and bad things about this game.  Doing FPS in VR is a whole different level.  Being able to play UR games in VR just might be the thing that pushes me over to getting a new computer so I can give it a try.

I like the game, but so far I’ve only tested against bots, so all the tactical part of the tactical shooter is gone. The UEVR injector works for other tacical FPS like Squad and Ready or Not.(some ones seems to be using the injector as base for a full VR conversion for Ready or not.

I tested the new Robocop game with the Injector today. It uses Unreal Engine 5, which has some buildt in stuff related to VR that the injector can use. So in this game, I have full freesom of movment, can use my hands freely with my VR controller, can lean etc.

It’s a silly ultra violent game, but it is fun in VR.(everything is more fun in VR)
