ParticipantAs wide, length ends as you have it in the column center. I’m really liking your stuff, I’m thinking Dustgrave.

ParticipantDustgrave.
ooooh me likey
One of the mission scenarios is a four or more sided mausoleum with 4 exits spaced about it with undead exiting each door as the mission turns proceed. You may need to make a variant of the one you recently completed. For that matter you really could have a whole line of 15mm terrain suitable for a desert themed Dustgrave.

ParticipantHere’s a niche to be filled: some decent barbarian-style female warriors to go along with Copplestone’s Red Sonja types.
We get slapped around, but we have a good time!

ModeratorOh it’s mega!
Thanks, I saw this online and looked at the dimensions and thought it is just too small:
6x10cm is just teeny.

MemberYeah I wanted that but the measurements put me off – I want their Iron Age building a too but that makes me worry they’re tiny.

It is a nice model, but seems small and quite a price too, plus with the debris everywhere it would be tricky to place your miniatures.
But if it is aimed at wargames rather than skirmish games I guess the footprint and accessibility are less of an issue..?23/07/2017 at 19:29 #68225jagannath
MemberYeah I assume it’s intended as some sort of ‘element’ or some such.
AB – what’s going on round the back of the raised dais area? Is there still some sculpted base or if it flat? Just wondering if it could be butressed up against another platform?

MemberThanks boss – that’s great. I’ve been thinking of some floor tiles recently that will work for inside a medina recently (so the edges represent the walls of buildings instead of the usual dungeon style) but they’d also work for tombs and it’d be great if they opened out onto this, with an even higher platform at the back. Can’t wait for this one!

ParticipantThats very nice and impressive (as it should be). The smaller one is probably meant to used as camp element for any army.

A simple and elegant construct from a simpler time.
The top picture is the better angle imho.

ModeratorAnd….. bought! Need somewhere to home all my priests, cultists and priestesses!
You the man!
So, here is a thing.
I kind of want to make a sort of simple inn for Simurgh, now that Erland and Eydis have seen off the bandits, trade is beginning to return and the town is starting to grow, a few more houses, and even a small shrine has popped up.A small inn seems a logical step especially as it will give our heroes somewhere to sleep.
Got to be better than a tent and a goat shed? But it will be quite a large building compared to the others.
I am not sure if I should make it so it can be moulded and cast.
It will be a lot more effort and I am kind of asking if you think there would be a market for it, would you buy one?01/08/2017 at 16:30 #69023Earther
ParticipantHow about a group of smaller buildings to create a compound (with separate mud walls) that would form an inn? Maybe a two storey adobe as the main structure, with outlying brew house and stable, enclosed by the walls?
The buildings and walls could be sold (and moulded) separately.
Call it the Inn of Nine Blessings?

Participanthmmmmm four of those out buildings alone are £16.00 factor in the walls and then the massive two storey part you are knocking on £35.00 to £40.00. Seems pricey.
I was thinking a group of three buildings with thin mud walls between them. Perhaps the two-storey part was a tad ambitious…
02/08/2017 at 11:50 #69081General Slade
ParticipantI think the best idea would be to make individual buildings that can be assembled into a larger complex so that people don’t have to buy the whole thing if they don’t want to. For example you could make an inn that is about the size of your large house or maybe a little larger. You could then do a stable, stone walls, a gate, and maybe a tiled courtyard, separately. You’ve already got a well that would sit quite nicely in the middle of the courtyard.
You could sell each item separately and maybe offer some kind of deal to people who buy the whole bundle.

KeymasterI was thinking a group of three buildings with thin mud walls between them.
Yeah but that would be average, not way epic and befitting our heroes!
😀
02/08/2017 at 16:13 #69107Darkest Star Games
ParticipantAh, but are the heroes Epic themselves yet? Stepping stones, my good sir. I’m with General Slade on this. The focal building, the inn itself, could be quite large, and you can make other smaller buildings to butt-up to it as you show in your mock-up. One can even be a stable that is nothing more than posts and a roof (a good place to pass out after drinking too much and being tossed from good company!). I’d also suggest an outdoor kitchen to go with the kiln/bread oven…
Later, when the heroes have gained much more fame and visit one of the “cities” you can do a really fancy one!

ModeratorThe Internet is wicked. 4 hours ago I was on FB chatting to a guy about doing some 3D urns and vases for me.
As of now they have been digitally sculpted by the designer in the USA and printed by a guy in the UK who is going to post them tomorrow.
It is entirely possible that within two days a concept from me in the UK will have been designed in America sent to me then passed on to someone to print and then sent to me to mould and cast.
It’s pretty cool really.

MemberVery cool – I can’t bring myself to place an order just for vases from Baueda, so it’d be great if you had some.

ParticipantThe internet is a great place sometimes, and 3d printing has made lots of things easier 🙂
