    Oohhhh!!! Me likey!!!

I’ve steered away from your Utseb huts so far as I had already made a number of my own and didn’t think they’d mix well together but this is different enough that I think it’ll work just fine if that makes any sense😋

Definately going to be part of my next order!

    Cheers,

    Stroezie.

That is really cool!  Could easily also be used in nordic settings!

That is one very useful piece, with all sorts of applications to various settings. An excellent new addition! As I’ve said before, I love watching the growth of this amazing range.

Started work on a small desert building.

    A free oasis.
A small walled courtyard with a domed building, these are built over sources of water in the deep desert and are free for anyone to use, protected by ancient gods and their unseen priests, these structures are kept in a fair state of repair.
The spilling of blood in these places is said to visit terrible punishment.

Oh yes, I like it very very much!  Seriously!

I can see this being the setting of an interesting stand off.  Maybe our heroes stop here to rest for the night while being pursued by vengeful nomads, who surround the oasis and wait for our heroes to make their dash for freedom, knowing they will have to try to break through sooner or later…

    Cheers dude!!

I shall be doing a mini Crom Funder shortly.
I want to bring out some bad guy types, they can be used as guards, mercs, slavers, soldiers etc..

Kind of based on this dude:

    There will be 3 figures.
    2 swords and a spear.

The cost of getting these 3 done is £195.00

However with a pack of 5 figures being £3.00 that means getting about 65 backers, which ain’t gonna happen.
So to make up the shortfall I will offer, like the last one, an exclusive terrain piece.
But I am not sure what to do, I want it to be figure relevant..

    Thoughts?

For slavers you could do some kind of slave hitching post/auction block.

For temple guards a pedestal with some kind of relic on it for them to guard.

If they are to be bandids maybe a big pile of loot or a strongbox?

    cheers,

    Stroezie.

I like all of the ideas above.

Perhaps maybe also an ornate palanquin?  Could be the conveyance of a wealthy gent or lady, a way to move the cults mystical seer around without the public being withered under her gaze, or maybe a super sneaky way for our heroes to escape…

Or how about a gate house/barracks for the walls?  (too big?)

Maybe a free standing weapons rack?  (could put it up against the wall of the jail next to the barracks door, would look real nice)

How about a grinding wheel and forge?

Needs to be a simple resin model from a single piece mould, so the palanquin will be out.
Plus it would need extra figures to be sculpted to carry it.

Also, yeah the building could be too large, plus we have a barracks already!  😀

I want to do a slave Crom Funder with slaves and a slaver so I will save a few ideas for that.
Auction block and breaking wheel etc..

I wonder if I can do a small campsite with a few tents, central fire, some bedrolls and chests, maybe some crude spikes and what not?
hmmmmm not sure, will scoure the internet for ideas…

    😀

Religious thing may work, I was debating doing one anyway…

Another crom-funder sounds like a great idea!

All the suggested ideas for the extra piece are welcome ideas, but the campsite or some religious altar/pedistal sounds very useful.

    So much to comment on!

I love the new shaman hut.  I think a set of cave entrances would be cool to go along with it.  The dome enclosure is cool too, I like the idea of a capital city with domes and towers.  I decided to paint my 10mm Coppelstone warriors to look like Eastern warriors as an homage to all the wonderful paint schemes I admired on this thread.

I think you could do it as a single mold, but it’d have to be a closed type rather than open bottom mould.  But ya, would totally need bearers…  You might be able to finesse the town guard sculpts a little to work though.  Maybe?  Or maybe later for the slave set?

The tented campsite is a great idea, that’d work very well with these dudes.

I’ll need to get one of those huts for the medicine man when I’m ready to build the village..

The oasis piece is really nice, I can see why all sorts would congregate there!

…and this is why I have learned to keep my mouth shut.  There are whole stretches of my 20’s that I cannot remember, and I am sure it’s because I might have tried to sneak into Area 51 at some point.  (it sounds like something I would have done, and there was these odd hints I discovered in a box in my closet.  Surly not because of the excessive partying one does at that age…)

And so you did.  Looks good mate.  I like that it is multi-purposeable.  Thumbs up!

Is there any interest in building frontages?
Not complete buildings, but just the front bit so that you can line them up against the table edge to create a city look without having to buy loads of full on buildings that have there rear end on the table edge anyway?

I was thinking maybe make them about an inch deep, so you get some sense of thickness and a bit of roof to put people on..

Works for me, but I may be in the minority in liking scenery like that. Depends on how much of an outlay it represents for you, I guess. Might not sell as well as “complete” buildings.

If you do go ahead, and you make multiple pieces, maybe vary the depth a little so the resulting array of frontages isn’t too neat and tidy. Make some of them a bit less than an inch deep, some a bit more.

The other way to do it is to have a multi-purpose ‘back’ to buy separately. If someone just wants the facade then they buy that, if they want a full building they buy the ‘back’.

Whilst I ponder that, a question for you….

What sort of companion for Erland and Eydis would you like to see next, Dinner for Wolf or I’m a Wizard mind you.
