Ha!  Love them both!  That blacksmith is intimidating.  Wouldn’t want to argue with him over prices…

I know its fantasy but that’s a 2 handed hammer. A smith would typically have a one handed hammer with the other used to hold thongs.

This is a range inspired by a movie that begins with blacksmiths casting a longsword.

    Casting.

Great figure, I think it could be used as a NPC or main character.

Maybe I could do a couple more variations on these, and sell them as tiles, that way you can arrange them to your needs?

    They do look good!

You know, you could not just put them out as tiles, but could probably even make some different edges to represent walls and doors and windows without having to go full height.  So you could use them to make huge palaces for our heroes to sneak through.

I do think the 2.5D system is better than full height walls.  Easier to reach in and move figures about.

I agree. Full height walls are nice in theory, but a pain in reality

Maybe, if the material is conducive to it, the big tiles could do with having the edges sanded subtly rounder or more bevelled? Just subtly, mind.

yup, this is a more a dry run set up and feeling around for ideas and what not.
    Should be do-able.

I like it, modular tiles are quite useful.

I second the 2.5D, full walls are good-looking, but get in the way of actual play too much.

Those guys are cool.  That should be a full range.

I’ll give you a pre-order or kickstarter for them.

Those greens look amazing – immediately put me in mind of this:

Now all you need is a Christopher Lee type baddie, and of course a a load of warrior dudes on flying carpets……. !

    Cheers all.

    So the Crom Funder.

There will be the usual figure only option. Pack of 5 mercs or pack of 10.
There will also be a figures and exclusive terrain item option.
In this case the terrain item will be a campsite.

I envision a small rocky outcrop onto which a makeshift tent is made, around the edges of the campsite proper are some hasty stakes to keep out foolish adventurers, another smaller tent and a selection of crates, barrels, bedrolls and general camp stuff.

    A very crude plan here:

Ya, that works!  Will the spikes be removable/separate piece or molded to the base?

    Do eeeeeeet!!!

    So, the Mercs camp.
As noted above the stakes will not be part of the base, they will be removable.
However, I am in a quandary.

This is how I have started to make them, they pop into little spaces so that they do not stand proud of the ground.

But, someone has suggested there is no little holding hole, but rather they are just placed on top loose.
Whilst the later is easier, I worry that when you consider the floor/ground will be textured and not flat, that placing the stakes loosely on top will make them wobbly.
This does not please my eye.

However whilst placing them loose and wobbly on top for me looks evil!!!
It does mean you can have a camp that looks ok with the stakes removed..

Thoughts from those looking to get in on the buying action?

How about texturing the space (where the stakes will be) smoother than other areas with 3-5 rocks bordering it to hold the stakes in place instead of a slot?

Definitely doesn’t look up to code.  But I like it!

Stakes look good too, no beasties or horses charging into there while they sleep!

The camp shall of course need a couple of loot chests, and a chance for an occasional named thrall spawn

Ha!  If I had to replace all my dungeon terrain in 15mm it would cost me a fortune!  I will admire your work from over here in the corner where I won’t catch your 15mm cooties.

Kinda big in my mind.  Those are entire trunks.  I’d just leave it off.  People can drill and add their own stakes.

I prefer the chunky made by warrior type thicker logs myself, because THIS IS SPARTA!! or similar!
(Plus they are easier to mould/cast)
HOWEVER for those of you that are interested in parting with some cash, what do you prefer:

Well Mr Barracks you have been busy, haven’t you? First off…..

Because I’m playing catch up. Those floor tiles look good. Just what I need for chapter 2 of my project. I’m a bit far off that as yet, so no pressure. The pot looks interesting too, so much so I could easily find a use for that in my next chapter. Not to mention those merc guys. Yarp! have some those those too, when you’re ready. No pressure.

To answer your question about what stakes. I prefer the skinny ones as opposed to the fat ones. So I’ll definitely be crossing your palms with notes. Or shall I say crossing your PayPal account with virtual money.

PS that’s PIT not POT. The ruddy “I” is next to the ruddy “O”. Plus I’m crap at typing.

Of the two stake sizes shown, I’d go with the smaller.  The bigger looks too big – you’d need a small army to get them into the ground … or maybe just one mighty hero? 🙂

or maybe just one mighty hero?

    Erland grunts.

Also having a change of heart around the rocky outcrops and making multiple plug in bits.
I still may do that in the future, but I figured for now, I will make one kick ass terrain piece rather than try and do several ok ones.

Here is where I am so far on the pit, now with added skulls on spikes!
