Tower of Apis and Shrine To Apis Conversion?
Maybe have a big long flowing banner hanging down the front over that window?
Oooh and some fire bowls on the corners?08/03/2019 at 14:51 #110537
That’d be cool. Needs something on the roof though, like giant bull horns, or something.

A little wooden platform with steps on top, or a balcony so the priests can preach to the masses perhaps?11/03/2019 at 19:06 #11069812/03/2019 at 13:52 #110712
Finally we get to see the object of Macho Man Randy Savages’ life long supplications!
Jokes aside, she looks a right proper savage queen, and a mighty trouble maker to boot.

So, some of the original Simurgh building moulds need re-doing.
But, do I re-mould the originals, or make new buildings in the new style to replace them?13/03/2019 at 18:01 #110781RhodericParticipant

I really think you should keep the beams. Anyone can do a “middle east style” building, but IMO the beams give yours a different feel while still usable for other genres. YMMV

And so begins work on the replacement for the medium house.18/03/2019 at 15:33 #111030
Dig? I like that you’re doing your own style. I think every culture should have it’s own look (as Greek look is different from Minoan), especially in a fantasy world, even if the inspiration for the setting is “real world”.

Cheers dude, as Simurgh grows and the influence of certain factions grow, so too will the style of dwelling grow.
The newer style will reflect the middle period of Simurgh which is what is starting now (thanks to the removal of the bandits), where as the original traditional middle eastern style will reflect the early period.
Here is the almost finished version of the medium house:
far from exciting, but perfectly fine as a dull regular dwelling.18/03/2019 at 19:54 #111048ThomastonParticipant
I like the new building style is linked to your game’s lore.
Tired is enough.

That is one hairy-chested ginger, I bet he eats ALL the souls!
I feel bad for some of them naked slaves, they’re so fair skinned they’re going to end up with skin cancer after only a week out in the desert! 😉
Good looking sculpts and paint job, dude.

Does this mean you will soon become a slave trader?
Seems not inappropriate given that you live in Brizzle…

just under 2500 left to go….04/04/2019 at 15:09 #111978ThomastonParticipant
There must be a way to automate this? Gravel and a washing machine comes to mind. Have fun.

Ya, I was going to say rock polisher/tumbler. Or, put them in a bag with a lot of small heavy rocks and shake vigorously for a few minutes.

I like the new additions, especially the Hyenas.04/04/2019 at 19:31 #112012
Alas the rounding does not happen any other way, it is kind of satisfying to be honest.
Almost finished replacing 3 of the 4 removed early period dwellings with middle period ones.

So those 3 are pretty much like for like replacements for 3 of the 4 discontinued ones, I thought for the 4th however something less tall but with a slightly bigger footprint:05/04/2019 at 13:53 #112079
Doesn’t look a lot less tall from that angle.
What sort of building did you have in mind?05/04/2019 at 13:56 #112082
Sorry poor explantion on my part.
I have discontinued 4 buildings and am replacing them with 4 new ones.
3 of the 4 are getting like for like replacements, but the 4th discontinued one here:
Is being replaced with the L shaped one, which is just single storey.05/04/2019 at 14:36 #112084
Will there be 2 story ones? I kind of liked that tower look, was quite novel.
"I saw this in a cartoon once, but I'm pretty sure I can do it..."05/04/2019 at 14:44 #112085
There are some two storey ones in the middle period already.
There will be a two storey tower one later, but I have already planned that and it shall cometh soon.
This L shaped one will resemble the shrine in terms of construction05/04/2019 at 15:26 #112087
Variety is good, I look forward to seeing what else you produce. I do really like that two-storey ‘tower’ version, but as I have one I can selfishly live with its withdrawal!
I’ll have to stop buying adobes soon. Between these and my mdf models it feels like I will soon be able to fill a large table with them!05/04/2019 at 15:27 #11208805/04/2019 at 15:31 #112089

I like it a lot. Adds variety without breaking the unified aesthetic of the collection. Is the base going to be part of the cast model, though?06/04/2019 at 14:27 #112128

Thanks, I think it is my new favourite building.
It has the bricks and roof like the temple and the beams like the rest of the Middle Age dwellings.
I will do some more along these lines.
No, the base is just to make construction easier.07/04/2019 at 01:18 #112149OldBen1Participant
