I cant speak for the southern oceans ones, but the desert bandits do blend well with the Croms Anvil minis quiet well and fit well for the gaming table and experience. They may be historical minis, but there is nothing greenstuff and paint cant fix if you want to make them more to you liking.

A bit of converting with modelling putty I have nothing against. If anything I relish the chance. It’s part of the whole worldbuilding process.
I notice the Xyston range even includes packs of separate swords. I’ve never tried weapon swaps on 15mm before, but if there are separate weapons being sold, then it must be feasible. I’d like to replace some of those falxes, specifically.
10/08/2020 at 16:54 #142063losethekingParticipantThe single swords are great for conversion. One thing I have found with Xyston is the scale can be all over the place depending on range in 15mm. but the ones Mike has shown do scale well with his line of minis.
11/08/2020 at 11:58 #142118Angel BarracksModeratorHowever there´ s something that concerns me. I remember what happened when Mike did a pub the last time…
Fair, but progress continues on this one!!

Please sir, may we have one without the background so us cheapskates can print it!

Ahab, King of Israel; 1 Kings 20:1102/09/2020 at 11:43 #143354Angel BarracksModeratorI have a question for you all…
The Burning Sands main rules and the Chronicler’s Compendium give me cash to pay bills/buy food etc.
So that is good. The free comics, cards, templates, cheat sheets and upcoming free rules do not.
But they do take up my time all the same.Would there be any interest in a patreon or something in which I bring out regular digital products for the patreons?
I am thinking scenarios, new rules, updates, maybe even a service where I can turn your images of figures into Burning Sands cards?
Let me know your thoughts.

I’m interested, I can think of no good reason why you should not be compensated for your efforts.

Ahab, King of Israel; 1 Kings 20:1102/09/2020 at 13:28 #143356losethekingParticipantI agree with Geof. Keep us posted!
02/09/2020 at 14:37 #143359Darkest Star GamesParticipantYes, I really do think you should do something like this.
Also, put everything up for sale on WGV and DTRPG. Yes, they take a percentage but they are also sales and good exposure for traction. Also leads to you being able to put up the RPG.
Patreon is great for monthly content as well as individualized content. So, making custom cards for a player using their figure’s image, or making new cards based on figures you release would be a great use. Scenarios, scratch building templates, maps, and maybe even 3d print files would go here. Small things you can kick out easily and probably most specifically for Burning Sands.
Crom Anvil and the various wargame seller sites would be good for base rules, campaign, scenario packs and geographic expansions. Things that take more time and can be of use beyond just Burning Sands games but would cost more than $1 or $3.
The more you spread around the more customers you can ensnare! (Maybe even give Kickstarter a go for a small project, that will get a LOT of exposure)

After much pondering, I think I will make a magazine and put it on the site as a PDF.
I will start work over the next few days and hope to launch issue one on the 1st of October and see how it goes from there. If anyone has some things they want to have featured that would be ace.
Could be a few paintjobs, a bit of terrain, some relevant fiction…
Drop me an e-mail.Praise Be To Apis!
03/09/2020 at 21:51 #143475Ralph PlowmanParticipantA magazine with a subscription?
Is that something you could do? I’d be interested because one day I’ll actually get round to starting this project! 🙄

05/09/2020 at 13:43 #143566Angel BarracksModeratorStarted work on the magazine…
I was thinking last night and the Rum spoke to me, it said…
You need to make the whole magic system culturally based.
Magic is tapping into an energy of some sort, and different cultures will have different ways of doing it.
So the Foul Sorcery section of the rule book is the way the folks around the Eastern Desert do it.
But the people of the North have different beliefs and tap into that energy in a different way and thus their magic will look different.
Same with the Southern Oceans people and so on…So I am fleshing out new magic rules for different gods/cultures and how they work in areas where that god is common and if being away from a culture lessens the affect the magic has..
05/09/2020 at 15:30 #143569Gone FishingParticipantThat’s a very clever idea and a great way to provide more colour to the setting.
